The registration data provided by IBRM Samar show, that only 40 Chinese cars were registered in Poland in 2011. Although this result isn’t impressive, it is more twice than in 2010, when the number of registrations was 19. For comparison, a Samar reported 13 units of models „made in China” in 2009, so Polish market is growing up.

Currently two importers operating in Poland: Pol-Mot is responsible for distribution of pickup ZX Auto Grandiger equipped with Hyundai Diesel engine and Auto-Porada, who has the exclusive rights to delivery DFSK brand. The first importer sold 29 units of Grandtiger using the network of 17 dealers and the second importer sold only 7 units of DFSK by 10 sale points. It is worth noting that apart from the official dealer network, importers have been selling cars to. The other 4 cars of different brands were imported by private customers as used cars.

What’s happen in the future?
According to earlier announcements, another two Chinese brands BYD Auto and Foton should appear on the Polish market. Unfortunately, no one of major producers, such Chery, Geely, Great Wall Motor and SAIC /MG, hasn’t the official importer in Poland so far. GWM is closest of Polish boarder, because its car will be produced in Bulgaria start from 21st February. All Chinese cars of GWM received European homologation and meet the Euro 5 norm. Geely is also close, because the brand was lunched in Italy ant the UK recently. Other candidates for the conquest of Europe and Polish market are not exist at the moment.
