Haima H1 – means Matiz pretty much as Mercedes

Chery QQ, known on a local market as Chery QQ3, will have another strong competitor. It will be Haima H1, which reminds its progenitor (Matiz). Haima H1 will have only different design of front and rear part of body. Cars with the same dimensions - 3350 x 1495 x 1485 will be offered in similar prices, around 30,000 yuan (11,000 PLN). H1’s debut is planning to take place in the end of the year.

Haima Motor produces cars on Mazda’s licence, but the company is selling them under its own logo. FAW owns only 49% of share in this company, which lets it take own, independent decisions. In 2006 Chinese company has started production of Family II, technically based on old 323’s version. In the same time partnership deal expired. The deal was related with importing beg engines from Japan. It forced company to build a new engine’s factory. Assemble lines were delivered from Germany (Heller) and France (Comau).

Haima (the name comes from Hainan-Mazda) has also started development over its own cars, and the first - concept one “S1” was shown on Pekin motor show in 2006. Though the company’s headquarters is situated on Hainan island, development center employing local engineers is placed in Shanghai.
