In the latest edition of the Chinese crash test C-NCAP, the luxury model Geely Emgrand EC8 got five stars. Although for the observes this result is not surprising, it is worth to noting that thanks to the highest score 49,6 points set a new record for Chinese cars. Unfortunately, parameters of crash test in China are still less demanding for cars than in Europe. The main difference is a speed - 56 km/h instead of 64 km/h. For comparison, Peugeot 508 scored 49 points in China in the same edition of the tests.

On 8th April, 2011, China Automotive Technology & Research Center publicized C-NCAP appraisal results of Voleex C30. Through participating into C-NCAP safety collision test, Voleex C30 won C-NCAP Five Star Safety Recognition with the achievement of 46.4 points, obtaining authority certification concerning quality. There are 6 models in total participating into the initial collision test this time, they are respectively Yaxiuer, Modern-Ruina, Great Wall Voleex C30, BUICK Excelle GT, Volkswagen CC and GAC Trumpchi. According to the test results, except for Yaxiuer, the rest five models all won C-NCAP five star award.

The China-New Car Assessment Program, established in 2006, is the sole organization that makes public announcements on new cars’ safety level in China. C-NCAP mainly includes 3 different tests with a same full mark 16: 100% overlap frontal test at 50km/h, 40% overlap frontal offset test at 56km/h, side impact test at 50km/h. Moreover, some safety equipments: seatbelt reminder, side and curtain airbags, ISOFIX can gain no more than 3 additional marks. The totally full mark is 51. A car scoring no less than 50 marks gets 5 star plus safety level, scoring greater than or equal to 45 but less than 50 gets 5 star level. Only Guangzhou Honda Accord and Dongfeng Honda CR-V have got 5 star plus level so far, but 5 star level is not difficult for most multinational car companies to achieve.

Geely's first B-Class sedan-Emagrand EC7 won five stars in the China-New Car Assessment Program (C-NCAP) test with an agreeable score of 46.8 points (the maximum score is 51), among which the frontal impact test against rigid barrier with 100 percent overlapping scored 13.61, the frontal impact test against deformable barrier with 40 percent overlapping obtained 14.41 points and the side impact test against mobile deformable barrier 15.8 points - according to Global Times.

Euro NCAP organization unveiled the newest scores of crash tests. According to predistions, Landwind CV 9 has appeared on the list. The car priced at EUR 11,950 debuted in Neatherlands exactly five years after X6 SUV model, which achieved the worst score in the history of ADAC. Anything has changed since then?

European organization Euro NCAP has announced the list of vehicles which will be destroyed in next part of tests. For the first time in the history of this organization the list included also Chinese representative - Landwind CV-9. Crash test result has a symbol meaning, because five year ago information about disastrous results of Landwind SUV went around the world and it was the worst score in ADAC history. Will a new model share a fate of predecessor?

C-NCAP conducted crash test of Geely Panda. The car surprised all observers getting 45,3 points and maximum five stars, , because it got the best result among all city models crashed by local organization. Tests were conducted 29th of December, but official results have been unveiled now. Earlier – five stars results were given only for two compact models – Roewe 550 and Chery A3.

Australian organization ANCAP responsible for car’s safety level, has conducted crash test of Chinese pickup V240 produced by Great Wall Motor company. The vehicle offered in China under Wingle name and in Europe under Steed name, received only two stars of five possible. It is very important, that this model obtained Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA) certificate of the European Union in September and it sale in Europe will start next year.

China's first fireproof bus began trial run Wednesday in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan province. The fireproof vehicle is equipped with nine shower nozzles on the roof, which will sprinkle extinguishing agent after the driver presses a button on his left, said Song Xiaoyong, director of the fire prevention division of the provincial fire-control department.

China's Dongfeng Motor Co. Ltd. will recall 153,065 sedans due to engine flaws starting June 12, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (GAQSIQ) said Thursday. The Teana sedans to be recalled were manufactured between July 1, 2004 and April 18, 2008, the product quality watchdog said. An air tube inside the engine of the sedan may become disconnected as it was found to have substandard heat-resistance. If that happens, the engine dies.
