Foton Tunland enters to Poland

Beiqi Foton will debut on the Polish market later this year. One of the biggest Chinese producer of commercial vehicles is building sales network. Although we don’t know the official Foton’s offer, we can suppose that only new cars with European homologation and Euro 5 norm can appear on the Polish streets. Foton has only one model which meets our expectations. It is a newest pickup named Foton Tunland (code P201).

Foton to launch electric minivan

Chinese truck maker Beiqi Foton Motor Co. has joined the race to build electric vehicles. Foton plans to start selling a battery-electric minivan in Beijing in late 2009 or early 2010. A full charge will take four to five hours and power the vehicle for 100 to 150 kilometers. The lithium ion batteries used in the minivan will be sourced from a domestic battery supplier.

Beiqi Foton will export fuel-cell buses

At the recent Beijing auto show, Beiqi Foton Motor launched China's first city bus model using the third-generation zero-emission fuel cell technology. The carmaker has produced four city buses powered by the fuel cells and will put them into a trial run on the designated streets in Beijing after the industry and municipal authorities give the green light.

Beiqi Foton debuts its first kombivan, MPX Midi

Beiqi Foton's first car model, the MP-X Midi, debuted in China yesterday. The automaker said the car, with 1.3-liter and 1.6-liter versions, will be available to customers as early as this June. Initial production capacity is a planned 50,000 units per year. The 1.6-liter diesel version is still under research and may be rolled out next year along with the 1.5-liter gasoline version, according to the China Business News.

Haima H2 or Mazda Premacy from China

Haima Auto, a sub-brand of First Automobile Works (FAW) based in Haikou, will debut its self-designed MPV concept Haima H2 at the upcoming Beijing Auto Show. The new concept is tagged as new Mazda Premacy by the local media for the company’s connection with Mazda. Haima Auto has been involved in a joint venture with Mazda since 1992 under the name of Hainan Mazda Motor & Stamping Co.

Beiqi Foton to build plant in Russia

China's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, Beiqi Foton Motor is preparing to build a joint venture plant in Russia. Local plant will be producing middle and heavy trucks in number of 100,000 annual output. The Chinese automaker sold 8,000 Aoling light trucks in Russia market last year.

Foton wchodzi w nowe segmenty rynku

Beiqi Foton Motor Company ogłosił na salonie w Guangzhou, że w przyszłym roku rozpocznie produkcję pierwszego osobowego hatchbacka. Nowy model ma stanowić poważną konkurencję dla lidera rynku, jakim jest Chery QQ. Firma ma ambitne plany wprowadzania co rok przynajmniej jednego nowego modelu przez najbliższe cztery lata. Foton jest największym producentem samochodów użytkowych w Chinach. W tym roku prognozuje sprzedaż na poziomie 400 tys., czyli 20% więcej.

Ciężarówki Foton z silnikami DaimlerChrysler?

Koncern DaimlerChrysler prowadzi rozmowy z chińską firmą Beiqi Foton Motor Co. o stworzeniu umowy joint venture, na mocy której powstawałyby średnie i ciężkie ciężarówki z przeznaczeniem na rynek lokalny. Rzecznik prasowy potwierdził, że koncern ma nadzieję że stosowna umowa zostanie podpisana już wkrótce, ale jeszcze jest za wcześnie na komentowanie tego wydarzenia.
