What happens to cars that were Made in China then sold to a European distributor, only for the EU distributor to be banned from selling them? They sit in Rotterdam Port rotting. The below pictures were forwarded to China Car Times several days ago by an insider who was able to visit Rotterdam Port, one of the largest deep sea ports in the world for car import and exports. It seems that the CEO SUV’s have been sitting out in the cold European sea air for several years.

China Automobile Deutschland is to bankrupt

China Automobile Deutschland (CAD) is to bankrupt – according to German auto-reporter.net. The phone in the company is off, and the official website disappeared. Tatiana Podkatilow, ex marketing chief admits, that low demand was one of the most important reason of such decision. Though, that there are still some cars left, tribunal in Munich affirmed bankruptcy of CAD.

China Automobile Deutschland (CAD) company, being an official importer of the car, is obliged to pay penalty and destroy imported cars. CED representatives accented earlier, that the first judgment was one-sided, because it was taken in the city, where BMW comes from.

China Automobile Polska – the next "bridgehead" of European project: China Automobile

Poland is the next development’s stage of European project – CHINA AUTOMOBILE, which is covering Europe very fast. The polish department will be running under the China Automobile Polska Sp. z o.o name. Similarly to other countries, Shuanghuan CEO will be the first model going to be sold. It is the first Chinese off-road car with European official certification.

Chery QQ6 as Dragon Jaggi to cost 6,999 EUR in Germany

German China Automobile Deutschland company has published an information about new range of models being produced by Chery Automobile. Cars are going to be offered in Europe under Dragon brand. Announced before Chery QQ6 (Jaggi) has joined following models: Chery A1 (known as City in Europe), V5 (Liner) and Tiggo (Grand Ufo). Thanks to basic price of 6,999 EUR, Chery QQ6 has chance to be the cheapest car in Europe. It will be offered with 1.3L 16V (83 hp and 114 Nm) engine, with Euro4 standard.

Chery in European network of China Automobile

China Automobile company, which is responsible for importing Chinese models Shuanghuan CEO (BMW X5 copy) and Jonway Ufo (Toyota RAV4 copy) to Europe, develops its offer by including three Chery Automobile models. Chery built the first prototype of the car in 1999, and 2 years later the mass production started. Last year the company sold over 380,000 cars.

Shuanghuan CEO to be sold in Czech Republic and France

Czech media announced, that the sale of controversial Shuanghuan CEO will start in October. The model will be the first Chinese car, officially offered in Czech Republic. In the same time, German China Automobile Company affirmed the information, that its French division – China Automobile France – will start CEO’s sale in spring 2009.

Chinese mini Jeep in offer of China Automobile France

China Automotive France is likely to introduce on market a new model called Kiff. The car is made by a Chinese company AMW Motor Works, and has sold as ‘JP 800’ on the local market. The name this car is not accidental, because its equipped with 3-cylinder, 0,8l (52hp) engine from Chery. The vehicle is similar to a concept car Jeep Hurricane, and will cost less than 10,000 EUR.

Gonow to enter German market

According to Auto Bild, the Chinese Gonow brand to enter to German market in September. The local company China Automobile Deutschland will responsible for distribution. The first offer will include the model SUV GX6, which was presented in Leipzig. Prices of a five meters vehicle with Mitsubishi’s engine fit in between 20,000 EUR and 25,000 EUR. By the end of Semptember, an offer will be completed by new pickup.
