Chery arrives to Europe with Italians help

As expected, DR Motor company, the subsidiary of Italian DR Automobiles Groupe, will become the owner of Fiat’s Sicilian Termini Imerse factory, which was closed in December last year. In an interview for Italian newspaper La Repubblica", Di Risio, founder and CEO of holding company, confirmed plans to start production of Chinese Chery models. DR Motor is still waiting for the green light from government agency Invitalia, which has to approve the new investment. If that happens, the company will get bank loans for the project. The first goal is to start assemble small SUV based on Chery Tiggo by the end of 2012.

Chery to enter Europe through the back door

Italy: Chery Faira NN as DR1 to cost 9,000 EUR

DR Automobiles Group company presented the Chinese model at the Bologna motor show, which will be available in the company’s offer next year. The car will be offered in Italy as DR1, though it is Chery Fairs NN, presented at the Pekin motor show in April. This is one of the five models, belonging to the newly created range with Faira name, which will likely substitute the current range of QQ.

Chinese auto maker FAW Group is now bidding to buy struggling Italian contract manufacturer Carrozzeria Bertone just a few weeks after India Mahindra & Mahindra expressed their interest in the coachbuilder. FAW apparently wishes to use this acquisition as an entry strategy to the European market. FAW also expressed interest in the privatization of Serbia's car manufacturer Zastava.

Włoska spółka DR Automobiles Groupe, chce zlecić Bertone montaż modelu o nazwie DR3, bazującego na chińskim modelu UFO. Dodanie kolejnego auta pozwoli na zwiększenie produkcji we włoskich zakładach z 7 do 12 tys. sztuk i oddali proces bankructwa producenta karoserii. Obecnie upadająca firma ma możliwość produkowania 70 000 sztuk pojazdów rocznie, ale 30 000 sztuk to minimalny próg rentowności. Bertone podaje, że przez ostatnie 3 lata straciła ponad 37 mln euro.

DR Automobiles: 121 chińskich aut w 10 dni

DR Automobiles Groupe, włoski importer samochodów chińskich produkowanych przez Zhejiang Gonow Automobile, potwierdził że w ciągu 10 dni sprzedał 121 aut. Kampania promująca odbywa się w wybranych centrach handlowych przez 20 dni, podczas których klienci otrzymują dodatkowy rabat w wysokości 990 euro. Akcja ta ma na celu pokazanie zainteresowania tanimi samochodami z Chin, na których włoska spółka chce zrobić dobry interes.
