In the beginning of the year, Roewe 550 was caught on German roads. As it appeared later, it was a prototype of the car, which is just being finaly tested to get official certification in Germany, which is necessary to start sale in Europe.

Rigorous crash tests conducting in UE showed differences in technology of products from China. In the meantime, MG6 was created on the modernized Rover 75 platform, which got 4 stars in Euro NCAP tests in 2001. Missing curtains caused it was not the first car in history, which got five stars (it was Laguna, which got it later). There is a huge possibility, that MG6 will be the first model created by Chinese with the best safety’s note.

The British SAIC Motor UK Technical Center (SMTC) coordinates the project. The company has changed the headquearters from Leamington to Longbridge, where the MG TG is assambled. But as sources say, chances to start MG6 production in this factory are little.

In near future SAIC will introduce the compact sedan. The new model will have two names – in China it will be called Roewe 350, when on the other markets – it will be known as MG5. In this case, there is no information about possible production place.
