Gonow GS1-1 - meaning combination of Audi Q7 and Kia Sorento

Gonow is surprising again. At the Shanghai Auto Show, the new off road having the name GS-1. IT looks identically like Kia Sorento and the front part of the body resembles Ingolstadt products. The carmaker does not hide, that it extracted inspiration from foreign samples and it is a huge construction’s advanteage, because customers think that they use advanced construction from Europe.

GS-1 is the newest Gonow model, which will soon be sold in the China. For the first time the vehicle was presented in March at the special carmaker show, and it was presented wildly at the Shanghai motor show. According to company’s representatives opinion, the car’s design guarantees success. “When people look at the GS-1, they think that it is the new, high class off – road, which came to Europe from China” – is published at the producer site. PR representatives underline, that in the new car there is no element from GX6 (Land Cruiser copy), what assure, that designers didn’t waste two years when they were preparing production version. “The face is similar to Audi Q7, back is from Toyota RAV4, but design is still original”. There is no information about combination with Kia Sorento, although that, except of exterior look, the vehicle has identical dimensions and interior as SUV from Korea.

The carmaker promises, that the car is equipped according to trends being observed in this class. Unfortunately, in Chinese conditions, it means only ABS with EBD, four disk brakes, automatic air conditioning, central lock with remote control and DVD. There is no information about air bags in the car (on the pictures, pre-production versions do not have any), but Gonow assures that the car will get 4 stars in crash tests. The off road will be driven by Mitsubishi engine (code 4G64S4M) fulfilling Euro 4 norm and economical Diesel with Euro 3 norm.

GS-1 sale in China is to start this year. The official prices are not known yet, but on the site of the company taking part in import from China, the price of 16,000 USD appeared.

Polish traders afraid of Chinese pickups?

Polish traders are not interesting of Chinese pickups. This conclusion stems from fast dropping prices of the model ZX Auto Grandtiger produced in 2011. Dealers which has decided distributing of the car compete together who give the lowest price. Grandtiger, which normally costs less then 17,000 EUR* (without taxes) for the best version with two airbags, air conditioning and metallic color, currently is offered for 13,350 EUR*. It is very competitive price, because is equipped with Hyundai’s 2.5l (170 hp) diesel engine and three year warranty.

40 Chinese car were registered in Poland in 2011

The registration data provided by IBRM Samar show, that only 40 Chinese cars were registered in Poland in 2011. Although this result isn’t impressive, it is more twice than in 2010, when the number of registrations was 19. For comparison, a Samar reported 13 units of models „made in China” in 2009, so Polish market is growing up.

Foton Tunland enters to Poland

Beiqi Foton will debut on the Polish market later this year. One of the biggest Chinese producer of commercial vehicles is building sales network. Although we don’t know the official Foton’s offer, we can suppose that only new cars with European homologation and Euro 5 norm can appear on the Polish streets. Foton has only one model which meets our expectations. It is a newest pickup named Foton Tunland (code P201).
