Lowered parameters of Chinese crash tests

Geely underline with proud, that Panda became a symbol of developing passive safety in Chinese cars, which already presents international standards. “In 2008 roku we published some prospect about the first model with four stars C-NCAP (Vision) result, and company set itself the goal to get four or five stars for every model. Five-stars result of the smallest Panda is a perfect proof for Geely to show the level of advanced technology in cars’ production and fast concern’ transformation.” – concerns’ spokesperson comments.

The result of this crash test is also a crucial step for Chinese Automotive branch, which is coming closer and closer to the world top leaders. Although the basic version, costing 37,800 yuan (around 16,000 PLN) does not have any airbag and ABS as standard equipment, there are even curtains assembled in the top variants. Such equipment was not possible to reach in most bigger models not so long ago and even today is not a standard yet in this market segment.

Geely Automobile is starting to be the one of the leader among Chinese carmakers. Last year the company bought for 40 mln USD the Australian company Drivetrain Systems International (DSI), specializing in production of automatic gearbox and started the licensed production of London taxi TX4. This year, the Swedish Volvo will be also taken by the concern under its wings, which means, one if the most unexpected takeover in automotive’s history.
