Chery in European network of China Automobile

China Automobile company, which is responsible for importing Chinese models Shuanghuan CEO (BMW X5 copy) and Jonway Ufo (Toyota RAV4 copy) to Europe, develops its offer by including three Chery Automobile models. Chery built the first prototype of the car in 1999, and 2 years later the mass production started. Last year the company sold over 380,000 cars.

Below, there is a short characteristic of particular models:

Chery A1 – the price below 9,000 EUR

A1, offered as Kimo S12 in some countries, is another economic Chery’s model, beside well known QQ model. According to producer’s information, the target group are young people, treasure theirs own style and individualism, which the Italian design house Bertone took care of. According to previous announcements, the distribution of the city car is to start in United States, where, on the strength of the agreement between Daimler AG and Chery, it will be sold under Dodge or Chrysler brand.

The basic car’s parameters are following:
Engine - 1,3L (83 hp, 114 Nm),
Vmax - 156 km/h,
Transmission - manual (5 gears),
Dimensions - 3,700x1,578x1,527 mm,
Wheelbase - 2,390 mm,
Available equipment: ABS, 2 airbags, air conditioning, DVD navigation, leather upholstery, electric windows and mirrors, remote central locking.

Chery V5 – 24,990 EUR

Chery V5 is the first model of Chinese company, which was built to be exported to United States. The car maker, which is being called „Chinese Toyota” accents, that this is the first local van destined for business goals. The car is equipped with three seats’ rows (2+3+2). Its main advantages is attractive, sober connected with functional interior. Bertone is responsible for its design as well. Additional assets of the car are also strong engine and luxury equipment. Designers accents, that in crash tests the car might get 4 stars in EuroNCAP scale.

The basic car’s parameters are following:
Engine - 2,4L (129 hp, 195 Nm),
Vmax - 178 km/h,
Transmission - manual (5 gears) or automatic (4 gears),
Dimensions - 4,662x1,820x1,590 mm,
Wheelbase - 2,800 mm,
Available equipment: ABS, ASR, ESP, 4 airbags, automatic air-conditioning, leather upholstery, glass sunroof, satellite navigation, multimedia (3 DVDs screen displays).

Chery Tiggo3 – 19,900 EUR

The car similar to Toyota RAV4 second generation, is to supplement Jonway UFO, which is offered only in 3-door version and costs 15,990 EUR. Both cars are equipped with the same engine (code 4G64) produced on the Mitsubishi license. The car is one of the leader on local market. In January – September period, the sale was 39,804 units, which gave it the third place in the segment.

Vmax - 175 km/h,
Transmission - manual (5 gears) or automatic (4 gears),
Dimensions - 4,285x1,765x1,705 mm,
Wheelbase - 2,510 mm,
Available equipment: ABS, 2 airbags, air-conditioning, CD changer, all wheel drive, electric windows and mirrors, remote central locking.

China Automobile company announces, that in future, likely in autumn 2009, the city car, prized less than 6,500 EUR, will supplement the offer.

Polish traders afraid of Chinese pickups?

Polish traders are not interesting of Chinese pickups. This conclusion stems from fast dropping prices of the model ZX Auto Grandtiger produced in 2011. Dealers which has decided distributing of the car compete together who give the lowest price. Grandtiger, which normally costs less then 17,000 EUR* (without taxes) for the best version with two airbags, air conditioning and metallic color, currently is offered for 13,350 EUR*. It is very competitive price, because is equipped with Hyundai’s 2.5l (170 hp) diesel engine and three year warranty.

40 Chinese car were registered in Poland in 2011

The registration data provided by IBRM Samar show, that only 40 Chinese cars were registered in Poland in 2011. Although this result isn’t impressive, it is more twice than in 2010, when the number of registrations was 19. For comparison, a Samar reported 13 units of models „made in China” in 2009, so Polish market is growing up.

Foton Tunland enters to Poland

Beiqi Foton will debut on the Polish market later this year. One of the biggest Chinese producer of commercial vehicles is building sales network. Although we don’t know the official Foton’s offer, we can suppose that only new cars with European homologation and Euro 5 norm can appear on the Polish streets. Foton has only one model which meets our expectations. It is a newest pickup named Foton Tunland (code P201).
