Brilliance FRV Crossover – attractive hatchback from China

Brilliance Crossover, based on a compact hatchback FRV has already appeared in Chinese saloons. The car is a producer’s answer for more and more popular passenger cars similar in design to off road vehicles. According to nowadays trends, the car has bigger by 20 mm clearance and additional side visors. The car’s look is getting more attractive because of 16” alloy wheels. In comparison to basic version, it has also richer standard equipment.

Two petrol engines are used to drive the car – having the capacity of 1.5l (VVT) – 102 bhp connected with 5-gears manual gearbox and Mitsubishi engine with 101 bhp and 5-gears automatic gearbox. Similar, as it is in competetive companies, the car is front wheel driven. FRV Crossover is offered only in one, but very interesting equipment specification, having ABS, 4 airbags, automatic air-conditioning, sunroof, electric windows and mirrors, as well as MP3. Because of sliding seats, roof rails and rear park sensors, the car is getting more practical.

The car is attractive for potential buyer also because of the price. Version with 1,5 MT engine costs 78,800 yuan (around 11,550 USD), the one with 1.6 AT – 89,800 yuan (13,130 USD). The main competitor on the local market will be MG3 SW, which, in basic version 1,4 105 costs around 10,000 yuan more than Brilliance.

FRV model was the base of elegant FSV sedan, but its prices has not been unveiled yet. There is huge probability, that Crossover will be offered in Europe, because importer’s offer is to enlarged by normal version FRV this year (in Europe the car will be known as BS2).
