SAIC Motor starts selling self-developed MG 6 sedan

SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle Co., an own-brand vehicle subsidiary of SAIC Motor, yesterday started selling its self-developed MG 6 mid-class sedan in the domestic market, Xinhua News reported. The car is priced from 128,800 yuan ($18,800) to 192,800 yuan. SAIC Motor said the MG 6, available with a 1.8-liter engine and a turbo version, is especially designed for the Asian and European markets. At the 2009 Shanghai auto show in April, the car was unveiled as an own-brand concept of SAIC Motor, which has developed the MG and Roewe brands on the basis of acquired technology.


International launch of all new MG

MG Motor is proud to annunce today, the international launch of the MG6, the first all new MG motor car since the launch of the MGF sports car. MG has begun the international launch of an all new model that has been designed and engineered here in the UK, for the global automotive market. Currently we only build and sell the mid-engined TF sports car here in the UK, but we can now look forward to expanding the range of MG products."

Polskie ceny Roewe 550, na razie szacunkowe

Jakiś czas temu pojawiła się informacja o planach Pol-Motu dotyczących wprowadzenia marki Roewe na polski rynek. Niestety przyszły importer nie ujawnił żadnych szczegółów dotyczących cen chińskich modeli. Na forach internetowych pojawiła się informacja, że nowocześniejszy model 550 będzie kosztował około min. 60-62 tys. netto. Postanowiliśmy policzyć orientacyjne ceny poszczególnych konfiguracji, bazując na cenniku obowiązującym w Chinach.

Roewe already in Poland

In the next year in Poland it will be possible to buy some models of Chinese brand Roewe, belonging to the biggest Chinese car's producer Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC). Pol-Mot Holding will be responsible for distribution of these models. Currently the offer of Asian producer contains two models marked by codes 550 and 750. According to the unconfirmed information, the first one has already received homologation and the second one is during the homologation process. Both of them were presented at the Agro Show Bednary 2009.


Roewe before BMW in customer satisfaction ranking

Guangqi Honda ranks highest in customer satisfaction with authorized dealer after-sales service, according to the J.D. Power Asia Pacific 2009 China Customer Service Index Study.SM. Guangqi Honda ranks highest in overall after-sales service satisfaction with a score of 870 on a 1,000-point scale. The study, which has been redesigned in 2009, measures customer satisfaction with maintenance and repair service at authorized dealerships at 12 to 24 months of vehicle ownership and examines five key factors: service quality, vehicle pickup, service initiation, service advisor and service facility.


BYD signs contract to supply lithium batteries to SAIC

Chinese battery and electric car maker BYD Co has reached an agreement with Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp (SAIC) to supply the automaker with lithium-ion batteries for hybrid vehicle productions, The Beijing News reports Tuesday, citing source from SAIC. The source said SAIC would purchase BYD's lithium-ion batteries to power its own brand Roewe hybrid vehicles.

SAIC to build new Roewe car in February 2010

Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp. will start making a new Roewe model in February next year at its Pukou plant in the east China city of Nanjing. The new car will be the production unit of the N1 Roewe Concept car, displayed at the Shanghai auto show in late April. It will be built on SAIC's small vehicle platform code named AP11 - according to autonewschina.com.


MG6 – the first completely new MG since 2001

Debuting at the Shanghai Show mG6 hatchback, will be the first since 2001 new model of MG Brand sold in Great Britain. Two models 0 ZS and ZT were last newness, as British Autocar informed, quoting SAIC sources, which is the Chinese owner of MG, Roewe and Ssanyong brands. Sale is to start in the first half of 2010.

SAIC: New MG cars for China and Europe

Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp. (SAIC) is developing new MG models for China and Europe on the platform of its Roewe 550 compact car - according to Automotive News Europe. SAIC will launch a new MG car in China at the end of this year. At present sales of this brand is much lower than expectations. In China, SAIC only sold 129 MG TF cars in 2008. It also sold 4,715 units of the MG3 SW small car and 4,357 units of the MG7 sedan last year, according to JATO Dynamics.


SAIC aims to sell 60,000 Roewe, MG cars in '09

In its effort to cut costs, Chinese auto giant SAIC is merging the sales networks of its Roewe and MG brands and aims to sell 60,000 Roewe and MG cars this year, up 67% from their sales in 2008, said sina.com today. In 2009, SAIC will launch two new models of the Roewe and MG brands - a Roewe SUV model and a compact medium-size MG6 model.
