MG Motor has revealed the saloon version of its new MG6 at Longbridge - according to British autocar. The car maker, which collapsed in 2005, was snapped up by China's biggest car maker SAIC and has been biding time while its new masters planned how to revive this famous British marque. Sales of the new four-door Focus rival will start in the UK in July, three months after the first deliveries of the new five-door hatchback. Prices for the saloon model are likely to be between £17,000 and £20,000.

At the Chengdu Auto Forum, SAIC’s vice president, Mr. Xiao Guo Pu, announced that the Roewe 550 plugin sedan will launch in 2012. In a talk entitled ‘going greener and greener’ Mr Xiao announced SAIC’s plans for a greener line up of cars, of which the plugin 550 was a major feature. SAIC plans to sell 20,000 new energy vehicles by 2012.

SAIC Motor starts selling self-developed MG 6 sedan

SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle Co., an own-brand vehicle subsidiary of SAIC Motor, yesterday started selling its self-developed MG 6 mid-class sedan in the domestic market, Xinhua News reported. The car is priced from 128,800 yuan ($18,800) to 192,800 yuan. SAIC Motor said the MG 6, available with a 1.8-liter engine and a turbo version, is especially designed for the Asian and European markets. At the 2009 Shanghai auto show in April, the car was unveiled as an own-brand concept of SAIC Motor, which has developed the MG and Roewe brands on the basis of acquired technology.

Jakiś czas temu pojawiła się informacja o planach Pol-Motu dotyczących wprowadzenia marki Roewe na polski rynek. Niestety przyszły importer nie ujawnił żadnych szczegółów dotyczących cen chińskich modeli. Na forach internetowych pojawiła się informacja, że nowocześniejszy model 550 będzie kosztował około min. 60-62 tys. netto. Postanowiliśmy policzyć orientacyjne ceny poszczególnych konfiguracji, bazując na cenniku obowiązującym w Chinach.

In the next year in Poland it will be possible to buy some models of Chinese brand Roewe, belonging to the biggest Chinese car's producer Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC). Pol-Mot Holding will be responsible for distribution of these models. Currently the offer of Asian producer contains two models marked by codes 550 and 750. According to the unconfirmed information, the first one has already received homologation and the second one is during the homologation process. Both of them were presented at the Agro Show Bednary 2009.

Guangqi Honda ranks highest in overall after-sales service satisfaction with a score of 870 on a 1,000-point scale. BYD signs contract to supply lithium batteries to SAIC

Chinese battery and electric car maker BYD Co has reached an agreement with Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp (SAIC) to supply the automaker with lithium-ion batteries for hybrid vehicle productions, The Beijing News reports Tuesday, citing source from SAIC. The source said SAIC would purchase BYD's lithium-ion batteries to power its own brand Roewe hybrid vehicles.

Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp. will start making a new Roewe model in February next year at its Pukou plant in the east China city of Nanjing. The new car will be the production unit of the N1 Roewe Concept car, displayed at the Shanghai auto show in late April. It will be built on SAIC's small vehicle platform code named AP11 - according to autonewschina.com.

Recently Great Wall Motors built Voleex C30 and Voleex C20R have been approved by EU with WVTA. Following Florid, Coolbear, Haval, and Wingle, the complete series of Voleex saloon cars of Great Wall Motors have got this certification. This certification lasted for 1 year, and the certification organization of VCA in UK is responsible for the certification process which is considerably complicated and strict. Totally 48 testing items are involved in EU Certification, of which 13 are relating to active safety, 13 for passive safety, 8 for environmental protection. Fairly high standards have been set for the vehicles in regard to emission level, safety performance and environmental protection.

Great Wall Motor Co., China's largest SUV maker, expects its joint venture assembly plant in Bulgaria to start producing vehicles in February - according to autonewschina.com. Volvo Car Corp. styling chief Peter Horbury is moving to the Swedish automaker's sister brand, Geely Group, as senior vice president of design - we can read in service autonewschina.com. He began his career with the Swedish automaker in 1991 as head of design, helping to create new models such as the XC90 crossover before he moved in 2002 to Ford's Premier Automotive Group.
