Lifan 520 - the first car's test

The sale of Chinese Brand Lifan with European logo Martin Motors has already started in Czech Republic. The offer covers only one model 520, being available in two bodies versions - hatchback and sedan. What is interesting, Lifan - is connected mainly with motorcycle - started cars’ production nearly 5 years ago, and 520 is its first project. Czech journalists from service auto.idnes.cz were the first to have possibility to check this exotic vehicle.


Lifan will enter Europe through the Czech Republic

Martin Motors, Italian company which is responsible for importing Lifan brand to Europe, shows several models at the Autoshow Praha 2009. The company has signed an agreement with local LUM-ORIS and will start sale of Lifan brand in Czech Republic in the next few days. Shuanghuan CEO and two commercial vehicles produced by Changhe - Freedom i Coolcar - will probably join the offer in near future. At the Autoshow Praha 2009 visitors can also see Dongfeng brand represented by GAZ Auto Praha.

Geely-branded vehicles to be assembled in Russia

Chinese private automaker Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd. agrees to stop exporting complete vehicles to Russia soon, and instead, the Geely-branded vehicles will be assembled there. The company will possibly reach accord with the Circassian plant Derways after the termination of its contract with a Russian agent that is exclusively responsible for Geely products exported to Russia, they added.

Lifan to launch Chinese MINI at Shanghai show

Chinese carmaker Chongqing Lifan Auto has created a MINI lookalike the Lifan 320 and will launch it at the 2009 Shanghai auto show next week. The Chinese MINI will be priced between 5,860 USD and 7,300 USD.


The first SUV model from Lifan

China's motorcycle and automotive manufacturer Lifan Group plans to start production of its first SUV model by the end of this year. The SUV will be powered by Lifan's independently developed 1.6 L engine, delivering 78kW and 137Nm of torque. Gasoline and natural-gas-powered editions will be available after their launch. Vehicle dimensions are following: length of 4,550 mm, width of 1,705 mm, and 1,405 in height.


The first Lifan’s minivan for 5,853 USD

Chongqing Lifan Automobile Co will begin to launch its first minivan model next year, the Beijing Times reported Monday, citing an informed company source. The upcoming minivan is likely to be powered by a 1.3L engine and will carry a retail price of 40,000 yuan ($5,853), according to the report. The company started construction of a 1-billion-yuan minivan facility last July in Chongqing. This facility is set to achieve an annual output capacity of 150,000 to 200,000 units after production starts this September.


Italy: Martin Motors to import Lifan

Martin Motors company, being responsible for distributing Chinese Brand Shuanghuan in Italy, is going to launch in March the next Asian brand – Lifan. The company has been operating on the local market since 1992 and is now the biggest privately-owned motorcycles producer in China. The first car – Lifan 520 – was introduced just in 2006.

Lifan 620 sedan sells in Beijing for 79,800 yuan

The Lifan 620 compact sedan has come to the Beijing market at a price between 69,800 yuan ($10,230) and 79,800 yuan, said xinhuanet.com today. Derived from the Lifan 520 model, the Lifan 620 model is the first mid-class sedan made by Chinese carmaker Chongqing Lifan Group, who showcased this new car at the 2008 Beijing auto show in April.

AIG buys 13.5% stake in Chinese Lifan

The purchase was approved by Chinese regulators in June this year, before AIG had become embroiled in financial difficulties in the United States. Lifan said the investment had already been settled, making AIG the second largest shareholder in the group.


Chinese MINI to be sold for 15,870 PLN?

Likely in September Lifan will start mass production of controversies „320” model. The car, which looks like MINI Cooper, was presented at Pekin motor show in April, and caused visitors’ interest. The producer accents, that it fully considered intellectual property rights issues when designing the car, so it has no worries about being sued for violating the intellectual property of other companies.
