Audi has won in customers sale’s quality satisfaction survey in China. In top ten, the local producer – First Automotive Works (FAW) has appeared as well. It has the same score as Mercedes-Benz and placed itself on the second position. Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) was calculated on the base of 8,954 new purchasers’ opinions about 45 the most popular brands.
FAW is going to present the newest sedan signed as B131 at Pekin motor show, exactly on 12th of April. The vehicle will be available with hybrid drive, with 1,5L (100hp) engine, as well as electric engine with 40hp of power. According to unofficial information, the basic version of the car will cost 129,800 yuan (18,500 USD).
Chinese auto maker FAW Group is now bidding to buy struggling Italian contract manufacturer Carrozzeria Bertone just a few weeks after India Mahindra & Mahindra expressed their interest in the coachbuilder. FAW apparently wishes to use this acquisition as an entry strategy to the European market. FAW also expressed interest in the privatization of Serbia's car manufacturer Zastava.
Serbian Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic met today with a delegation of the Chinese company First Automotive Works (FAW), which has shown interest in participating in the privatisation of Kragujevac-based Zastava factory. FAW representatives informed Minister Dinkic that they are highly satisfied with visit to Kragujevac, and with the tour of the Zastava factory, particularly with the Zastava line, and the highly experienced workforce.
FAW Group, drugi co do wielkości koncern motoryzacyjny w Chinach, zamierza rozpocząć produkcję w Meksyku (Michoacan). Jego partnerem będzie lokalna spółka Grupo Elektra, należącą do Grupo Salinas. Choć FAW współpracuje w Chinach z VW, Toyotą i Mazdą, to samochody oferowane w krajach Ameryki Łacińskiej będą posiadały chińskie logo. Parterzy zainwestują w nową fabrykę ponad 150 mln USD, a roczna produkcja wyniesie 100 000 aut. Pierwsze egzemplarze zjadą z linii produkcyjnej w 2010 roku.
