Though there is no petrol version of sedan CV8 in Changan’s offer yet, the carmaker has already announced, that in the second half of 2008 it is going to present the hybrid version of the car. Its price will be 20-30% higher than the one with traditional drive and will be set around 100,000 yuans (around 32,000 PLN). Likely, the hybrid hatchback (code V802) will appear on the market.
The Chinese producer has already presented the production version of another hybrid model – minivan CV11 at the Shanghai motor show in 2007. According to previous announcements, the car is going to be sold yet this year. In its case, the additional electric engine (10kW) was assembled in front, just near the petrol one and the system of energy controlling is mounted under the second row of seats. Special nickel batteries are placed under the boot and they don’t limit the capacity.
The total power of hybrid version is 152 hp, at 13 hp more than the series version (139 hp). Additionally – maximum torque rose from 186 to 192 Nm. According to producer’s information, reaching the speed of 100 km is possible in 16 sec, and the power will be transferred by 5-speed gearbox. The maximum number of people able to travel the car is seven. Dimensions of the car are following: 4,445/1,768/1,640 mm. The boot capacity is 763 l, after folding the second row of seating – 1,350 mm.
Sellers of ecological cars in China are expecting bigger profits, because the government decided not to charge the tax when buying hybrid car. In Chinese reality in means even 10,000 yuans (1,430 USD) less spent for the car. In the case of the most popular – Toyota Prius it is the amount of around 24,000 yuans (nearly 3,500 USD). New regulation will obtain in the second half of 2008.
