The list of Chinese cars with Euro 5 norm which are available in European Union

The sales of Chinese cars in the European Union is limited mainly by two things - Euro 5 standard emission and require crash tests. Producers from China who want to exist in EU have to invest additional money to more advanced technology and pass all complicated homologation procedures. Nevertheless, they don’t have any guarantee to achieve success in EU, so most of them resign from this the most challenging region of the world. But there are exceptions to this rule.

Below the list of Chinese cars, which can buy and register in the European Union. Each of them meets Euro 5 norm and has approval to allow for legal distribution.

1. BYD F3DM - 27 585 EUR (Spain, importer Berge Automotive),
2. Chery Riich M1/DR1 - 7 980 EUR (Italy, DR Automobiles),
3. Chery A1/DR2 - 8 980 EUR (Italy, importer DR Automobiles)
4. Chery Tiggo/DR5 - 13 830 EUR (Italy, importer DR Automobiles),
5. Dongfeng Van- 9 614 EUR (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, independent importers),
6. Great Wall Motor Hover/Haval H5 - 17 990 EUR (Italy, importer Eurasia Motor),
7. Great Wall Motor Steed - 15 201 EUR (Italy, importer Eurasia Motor),
8. Landwind CV9 - 14 495 EUR (Netherlands, Belgium, importer Landwind Europe),
9. Roewe 550/MG6 - 15 495 GBP (Great Britain, MG Motor/SAIC),
10. ZX Auto Grandtiger - 19 265 EUR (Poland, Pol-Mot Warfama).

Models which should appear in the European Union in next 12 months.

BYD E6 - about 30 000 EUR (Poland, Spain, Germany),
Chery Fulwin II/DR3 (Italy, DR Automobiles),
Great Wall Voleex C10/C30 - about 6 500 EUR (Italy, Great Britain, Bulgaria).

Each of these vehicles (except for the Dongfeng brand) have 3 year warranty. BYD Auto is a winner, because offers a warranty for 5 years without limit of kilometers. Besides, Great Wall has appointed IM Group to distribute Great Wall Motor (GWM) in the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, Scandinavia the UK and Ireland. Chinese company will start produce cars in Bulgaria by the end of the year. At the Sofia Auto Show GWM introduced, that all car made in Europe will have 5 year warranty limited by 100 000 kilometers.

Polish traders afraid of Chinese pickups?

Polish traders are not interesting of Chinese pickups. This conclusion stems from fast dropping prices of the model ZX Auto Grandtiger produced in 2011. Dealers which has decided distributing of the car compete together who give the lowest price. Grandtiger, which normally costs less then 17,000 EUR* (without taxes) for the best version with two airbags, air conditioning and metallic color, currently is offered for 13,350 EUR*. It is very competitive price, because is equipped with Hyundai’s 2.5l (170 hp) diesel engine and three year warranty.

40 Chinese car were registered in Poland in 2011

The registration data provided by IBRM Samar show, that only 40 Chinese cars were registered in Poland in 2011. Although this result isn’t impressive, it is more twice than in 2010, when the number of registrations was 19. For comparison, a Samar reported 13 units of models „made in China” in 2009, so Polish market is growing up.

Foton Tunland enters to Poland

Beiqi Foton will debut on the Polish market later this year. One of the biggest Chinese producer of commercial vehicles is building sales network. Although we don’t know the official Foton’s offer, we can suppose that only new cars with European homologation and Euro 5 norm can appear on the Polish streets. Foton has only one model which meets our expectations. It is a newest pickup named Foton Tunland (code P201).
