Pekin fights again the image of polluted city, especially when it was announced as Olympic Games’ place. One of the marketing operation, which is to improve this disadvantageous image is using “green cars” as a Olympic Games’ service. The Xinhua agency announced, that it will be the cleanest event in history. These kind of vehicles would continue to run on the roads after the games, as a demonstration project of using advanced technology in everyday life.

China's minister of science and technology told, that some 500 clean fuel vehicles would travel in and among the venues, including 50 electricity-powered buses, 400 electric venue vehicles and 15 electric cleaning vehicles. Relevant departments were working to have another 105 hybrid vehicles and 23 fuel cell cars and buses in use during the games.
