Cars will not be the most advanced, but instead of them – cheap. Chinese want to enter European market through our country. As Rzeczpospolita has found out, Jiangling Motors Group Company is going to build car factory in Poland. Peter Bijvelds, the representative of Chinese in Europe has affirmed this information. He is the CEO of Landwind Motor Corporation (JMC is operating overseas under such name). If it happens it will be the first Chinese car factory in Europe.
JMC’s deputies are going to come to Poland in the middle of September. They are to speak with Economy Ministry’s and Polish Agency of Information and Overseas Investments’ representative. Till now the size and number of employers is not known yet. In view of the production’s level predictions – 400,000 cars annually – it is comparable to Fiat Auto Poland factory in Tychy. Fiat investment is worth 1.2 bln USD.
- At the beginning Chinese should invest not less than 1 bln EUR – Jakub Faryś, president of Polish Automotive Industry Association explains. Chinese automotive companies have been preparing to start the production outside theirs own country for few years. The most advanced was Brilliance company, which is cooperating with BMW in China and JMC, in which 30% share belongs to Ford Motor Company. At first Chinese were going to start European expansion from selling cars, but it appeared, that all models had really poor results in crash tests. The Landwind model got zero points on five possible to get in ADAC crash test in 2005. Peter Bijvelds assures: - Our cars has already passed all the strictest tests.
