Chinese cars in the Warsaw’s dealer

The Auto-Porada dealer, one of the Warsaw’s showroom of Suzuki and Ssangyong, has started to sell Dongfeng Motor’s commercial vehicles. From the received information, the company has been given authorization of the Polish Ministry, the homologation, cards of the cars and every approval which are required to sell the DFM in Poland. At present, the company devotes attention finding and creating dealer’s network.

All car bodies are based on the on platform with 2,515 mm. Having the length of around 4 meters and gross vehicle weight 1,260 kg, vehicles are adjusted to transport carriage of nearly 1,000 kg weight. 1.0l, four-cylinders petrol engine, with 52 hp, with fuel consumption of 5.8l/100 km. Maximum speed given by the producer is 120 km/h.

Warsaw’s dealer sells the vehicles in the price range PLN 36,000 - 39,000. Each car’s configuration is equipped with ABS, air conditioning, radio and fog lights. Thanks to small size, weak engine and large transport capability, these cars should be use mainly in the city.

Dongfeng Motor Corp. was founded in 1969. During 40 years, concern has become the biggest local car producer and the biggest commercial vehicles’ importer. Currently DFM in joint-ventures with such tycoon as Peugeot, Citroen, Honda, Nissan or Kia.

Polish traders afraid of Chinese pickups?

Polish traders are not interesting of Chinese pickups. This conclusion stems from fast dropping prices of the model ZX Auto Grandtiger produced in 2011. Dealers which has decided distributing of the car compete together who give the lowest price. Grandtiger, which normally costs less then 17,000 EUR* (without taxes) for the best version with two airbags, air conditioning and metallic color, currently is offered for 13,350 EUR*. It is very competitive price, because is equipped with Hyundai’s 2.5l (170 hp) diesel engine and three year warranty.

40 Chinese car were registered in Poland in 2011

The registration data provided by IBRM Samar show, that only 40 Chinese cars were registered in Poland in 2011. Although this result isn’t impressive, it is more twice than in 2010, when the number of registrations was 19. For comparison, a Samar reported 13 units of models „made in China” in 2009, so Polish market is growing up.

Foton Tunland enters to Poland

Beiqi Foton will debut on the Polish market later this year. One of the biggest Chinese producer of commercial vehicles is building sales network. Although we don’t know the official Foton’s offer, we can suppose that only new cars with European homologation and Euro 5 norm can appear on the Polish streets. Foton has only one model which meets our expectations. It is a newest pickup named Foton Tunland (code P201).
