Chinese Rolls-Royce with 6.0L V12 engine in 2009

irst Automotive Works (FAW) delays marketing of luxury Hongqi HQD and, according to the latest information, announces that the car is going to appear not earlier than in the middle of 2009. Vehicle’s price will be record for local conditions and will amount 5 millions yuan (over 700,000 USD). The top engine 6.0L V12 (code CA12GV) will be driven the car. First models will be used as representative vehicles for overseas government’s visitors.

The car with length of 6.33 m was presented in 2005 at the Shanghai Motor Show. The car maker ensures, that the luxury model will join attributes of company’s traditional cars with the modern technology and equipment being used by top global producers. Car’s prestige will be also accented thanks to new sale’s conception. It will not be possible to order and deliver the car in dealer point, because all models will be sale directly in car maker’s plant.

The new, alloy petrol engine got many modern solutions, which were used on the local market for the first time. Experts accents, that it is not only a big FAW’s success, which is the owner of all patents, but primarily – the next breakthrough time in Chinese motorization. This is the first engine designed and produced since the beginning without overseas company’s participation.

Engine’s parameters have not been unveiled yet.

The news about potential investment of Great Wall Motor was revealed by Dziennik Wschodni, which relying on the direct information from the local government. According to newspaper, GWM considers assembly passenger car and commercial vehicles in the former Daewoo’s factory. Representatives of Chinese company visited Poland with the Prime Minister of China in late April. Is there any chance to implement a new project?

Polish traders afraid of Chinese pickups?

Polish traders are not interesting of Chinese pickups. This conclusion stems from fast dropping prices of the model ZX Auto Grandtiger produced in 2011. Dealers which has decided distributing of the car compete together who give the lowest price. Grandtiger, which normally costs less then 17,000 EUR* (without taxes) for the best version with two airbags, air conditioning and metallic color, currently is offered for 13,350 EUR*. It is very competitive price, because is equipped with Hyundai’s 2.5l (170 hp) diesel engine and three year warranty.

40 Chinese car were registered in Poland in 2011

The registration data provided by IBRM Samar show, that only 40 Chinese cars were registered in Poland in 2011. Although this result isn’t impressive, it is more twice than in 2010, when the number of registrations was 19. For comparison, a Samar reported 13 units of models „made in China” in 2009, so Polish market is growing up.

Foton Tunland enters to Poland

Beiqi Foton will debut on the Polish market later this year. One of the biggest Chinese producer of commercial vehicles is building sales network. Although we don’t know the official Foton’s offer, we can suppose that only new cars with European homologation and Euro 5 norm can appear on the Polish streets. Foton has only one model which meets our expectations. It is a newest pickup named Foton Tunland (code P201).
