Chinese RAV4 to be sold for 53,750 PLN in Germany

China Automobile Company has started the sale of controversies Shuanghuan CEO and Zhejiang Jonway UFO models in Germany. As Automobilwoche announced, currently there are around 80 sale’s points on the German market, and next models will be presented at the Paris motor show. Among them there will be likely Gonow’s SUV and pickup, as well as utility vehicle, being a competitor for Fiat Ducato.

CEO’s design reminds BMW X5. Just to compare, the German model (before lifting) has following dimensions: length/width/height - 4 665/1870/1720 mm, and Chinese one: 4710/1870/1820 mm. Importer’s brochure with technical data shows, that in this model the 2,4L engine has 103 kW (140 hp) of Power and 190 Nm of maximum torque. It is the well known and widely used Mitsubishi engine (code 4G64S4M), which is assembled e.g. in Brilliance BS6. Basic price is set fro 25,900 EUR, which means around 87,060 PLN. In autumn the V6, 165 hp petrol engine will supplement the offer.

Jonway UFO was presented in autumn 2007 in Frankfurt. UFO is a carbon copy of RAV4, having the same dimensions as its original. There is also a possibility to change body’s panels and doors for original parts. Toyota can’t restrain car’s sale, because the car maker did not occur for patent’s rights, protecting its design on European markets. Mitsubishi engines – 1,6L 101 hp (4G18S), 2,0L 129 hp (4G63S4M) and 2,4L 136 hp (code 4G64S4M) are assembled in UFO as well. The basic version was priced for 15,990 EUR, which means nearly 53,750 PLN.
