Chinese MINI to be sold for 15,870 PLN?

Likely in September Lifan will start mass production of controversies „320” model. The car, which looks like MINI Cooper, was presented at Pekin motor show in April, and caused visitors’ interest. The producer accents, that it fully considered intellectual property rights issues when designing the car, so it has no worries about being sued for violating the intellectual property of other companies.

The Lifan 320 is a 5-door compact hatchback, 3,755x1,624x1,435mm on a 2,340mm- wheelbase. In the beginning the 1.3L engine (LF479Q3) capable of 65kw/6000rpm will be driven the car. The top speed is 155km/h. in future, the offer will be developed by smaller 1.1L engine.

There are already some rumors saying, that to buy the basic version with 1.3L engine, 50,000 yuans (around 15,870 PLN) will be enough. 1.1L version will be even cheaper. Concern Chongqing Lifan Holdings Co. already announces car’s export, though it doesn’t precise where to.

Lifan belongs to quite large small Chinese producers, and its major profits’ source are motorcycles. Its own car model “520” appeared on the market in 2005 and since that time the only introduction was hatchback version. It sold about 30,000 units of the "520" in 2007.
