Changan Motor going to start production in Iran

Changan Motor Corp., Chinese partner of Ford Motor, has announced that it is going to start the cars’ production in Iran in the first half of 2009. The assemble of parts imported from China will take place in local company’s factories – PIDF. The first car, going to be produced, will be Benben with 1,3L engine, already known in China as CV6. Later Changan is going to enter to European and USA markets, even though it doesn’t give dates of expansion in these regions.

The production is going to hit 50,000 units firstly, rising to 250,000 units during next four years. Changan is planning to create 8 factories outside China, where two of them have already exist in Malaysia and Pakistan. Chinese carmaker wants to sell 200,000 cars overseas, so that is why it is working to widen cars’ range. The offer is going to contain 8 passenger cars.
