The Chinese carmaker has already announced its participation in the two biggest automotive events –the Paris motor show in October and Detroit one in January. On each of them Brilliance is going to present the wide range of its models – BS6, BS4, BC3 coupe and BS2. These cars are already sold on the local market. Last year there were 32,006 units of BS6 sold and 82,311 units of BS4. BC3 and BS2 are this years newness.
After Paris motor show the official sale of BS4 sedan is going to start. The basic price will be 15,990 EUR. Taking in consideration the fact that it will have richer equipment, including: ABS and additional airbags, the car will be more expensive than the Chinese version, the price of which is nearly half lower (only 8,160 EUR, but without additional charges included in German price). First batch of 270 units was sent from China in July and it is going to reach German harbor in the beginning of September. The modernized BS6 models are going to be transported after that, because theirs sale was stopped after the disastrous ADAC crash test.
HSO Motors Europe importer does not give any information about launching the BC3 and BS2 models on the European market.
Brilliance is also fighting to get the possibility of selling cars on the American market, but the presentation of models on the Detroit motor show will not be the first step in this direction. According to Automotive News information, Brilliance already sent test versions of BS6 and BS4 to USA in June 2007. Crash tests’ results were enough good, but rigorist exhaust fumes’ emission standards blocked the export.
To speed the USA expansion up, Briliance rent Porsche AG and the American VEF Inc. company, which were to help in adjusting these cars. Official results of theirs work will be unveiled in December 2008.
