The official sale of Brilliance FRV has been started in China today. The new compact hatchback is going to compete on the global market successfully. The attractive model will be offered in Europe under the name BS2 quite soon. An exhibition model was already shown – though the exterior – at the Frankfurt and Geneva motor show.

What the cheap, but attractive compact offers? Its exterior dimensions are following: 4,210x1,755x1,640mm. The wheelbase is 2,580 mm. In the beginning, the car will be offered with one 1,6L petrol engine, having 101 hp of power. Its advantage is the possibility of using 93-octane petrol and Euro4 standard. There will be two gears possible to choose.

The basic version, costs 65,800 yuans (around 20,660 PLN) has following standard equipment: ABS with EBD, two airbags, manual air-conditioning, radio CD with USB, 4 speakers and electric front Windows. 15” steel wheels are equipped with 195/65 tires.

Richer version – Luxury costs 73,800 yuans (23,175 PLN) offers additionaly: automatic air-conditioning, electric sunroof, radio MP3 + 6 speakers, fog lights, alloy wheels, electric mirrors and rear windows, central locking remote control, front seats’ height regulation, park sensor and rear disk brakes.

The top version of the car– Luxury costs 83,800 yuans (26,315 PLN) – and as the name point sit is equipped with 4-speed automatic transmission.

In future the offer will be supplemented with even cheaper version, equipped with 1,3L 85hp (108 Nm) engine, but probably it will not appear in Europe, because it meets only Euro3 standard. It is still a mystery, when the presented on pictures Sport version with 1,8T 170hp engine and six-speed transmission will be sold. Chinese media have already named is as “hot hatchback for the masses”.
