In Polish offer of China Motors a new model has just appear. It is the BAW Knight SUV. The car is produced on the Jeep license, and this model based on Cherokee (XJ) being produced since 2001. An exterior and interior design reminds the legendary Jeep. It is possible to buy completely equipped car with all available options (such as DVD or camera making the parking easier) for nearly 88,000 PLN.

BAW Knight has dimensions, which are similar to the original, 4,300x1794x1700 mm. In China Motors’ offer there is only one, four-cylinder petrol engine (16V, DOHC) with 2.2L of capacity and 142 hp of power (5,400 rev/min). Maximum torque is 250 Nm with 4,000 rev/min). The top speed is 170 km/h. Standard equipment of all versions covers: ABS with EBD, two air-bags, manual air-conditioning, leather upholstery, electric windows and mirrors’ regulation, radio CD with six speakers, alloy wheels and park sensors. On the option’s lists, there are: DVD, sunroof and parking car. There two versions possible to choose, and the price depends on the drive’s type – 2WD costs 77,300 PLN, and 4WD 82,400 PLN.

BAW (Beijing Automobile Works) has run under this name since 1958. In 1984 the company create the first joint-venture with American company AMC ((American Motors Corporation, assimilated in 1987 by Chrysler), named Beijing Jeep. It was created to produce middle and big off-road cars destined for local market. These vehicles are still offered with official Jeep logo, and models which are not in the offer any more, are produced by BAW.
